1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or registering for an Elizabeth City Rowing Club (ECRC) program, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable North Carolina laws.

2. Program Registration & Safety

  • Eligibility: Participants must meet the age and health requirements specified for each program.

  • Safety Requirements: All rowers must pass a swim test or wear a Coast Guard-approved PFD. ECRC reserves the right to refuse water access to anyone deemed a safety risk.

  • Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration, particularly regarding emergency contacts and medical health.

3. Waiver of Liability

Rowing is a physical activity involving inherent risks. By registering for ECRC programs, participants (or parents/guardians) acknowledge that they will be required to sign a separate Waiver and Release of Liability before participating in on-water activities.

4. Photo and Media Release Clause

A. Consent to Capture and Use By participating in Elizabeth City Rowing Club (ECRC) programs, events, or regattas, you (or the parent/legal guardian of a minor participant) grant ECRC, its staff, and authorized volunteers the irrevocable right to take photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings of you/your child.

B. Scope of Use You agree that ECRC may use these images and recordings for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to:

  • Club Promotion: Website, brochures, and recruitment posters.

  • Social Media: Facebook, Instagram, and local community groups.

  • News Media: Submissions to local Elizabeth City news outlets or rowing publications.

  • Internal Use: Educational and coaching review.

C. Ownership and Compensation You acknowledge that all such media is the property of ECRC. You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product and understand that you will receive no financial compensation for the use of your likeness.

D. Opt-Out Provision If you wish to opt-out of this media release for yourself or your child for privacy or safety reasons, you must submit a written request to ElizabethCityRowingClubNC@gmail.com prior to the start of the program. ECRC will make reasonable efforts to honor these requests by excluding the individual from group shots or blurring identifying features.

5. Code of Conduct

All members, athletes, and parents must adhere to the ECRC Code of Conduct. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Harassment or unsportsmanlike behavior.

  • Misuse of club equipment or facilities at "Bugsy Beach."

  • Unsafe boat handling or violation of Pasquotank River navigation rules.

6. External Links & Payments

Our site may link to third-party sites (e.g., USRowing, TeamSnap) for payments or memberships. ECRC is not responsible for the content or practices of these external sites.

7. Intellectual Property

The content on this website, including the ECRC logo and program descriptions, is the property of Elizabeth City Rowing Club and may not be used without written permission.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes shall be handled in the courts of Pasquotank County, NC.
